What is Somatic Breathwork?

Somatic Breathwork is an ancient, centuries-old practice that activates your body’s natural ability to heal itself (physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually). This 3-part, dynamic, active breathing meditation enables transformative experiences. This practice helps you regulate your nervous system, free yourself from the bondage of the past, and feel at home in your body.

Aside from the powerful psychological and spiritual insights that can come from breathwork, benefits of this type of breathing also include:

  • Stress and anxiety release

  • Improved emotional regulation

  • Boosts in mood

  • Support of trauma recovery

  • Deepening of self awareness and clarified sense of purpose

  • Activation of Delta Brain Waves (present in deep meditation)

We begin each session with a moving meditation to connect you to your physical and energetic body. After this I explain the breathing method and we practice it together. I then ask you to share your intention(s) - typically one thing you are calling in and one thing you are letting go of. You then lay down and begin the three part dynamic active breath, which is followed by a Savassana integration period.

Sessions last between an hour to an hour an a half.
